I have the exact same problem! I've got a PCChips M571MR mobo, which has the SiS 5597/5598 chipset (I think that's the numbers). I've selected "Use DMA if available" in the device manager, but it always uses PIO. This sucks. It must be a problem with SiS chipsets!

I can't wait until I get my Abit KT7a next week, maybe IT will work!
