I am building a CD player using a standard IDE CD-ROM drive as the transport. I am going to control it using a Xilinx FPGA and route the digital output to an outboard DAC. I am having trouble finding a description of the audio-specific interface (pins, timing, etc) that will allow me to load the TOC, Play, Next track, etc..
I have found the IDE ATA specs for data and they seem straightforward to implement, so I am hopeful that the audio interface will be approachable as well. I would really appreciate any information that could be provided.

Thank you,

Mike
