Hi all,

At my wits end!

Epox 8K3A mobo
256 ddr pc2100
IBM DTLA 305040
Windows XP

HD detects as IBM DTLA 305040 SCSI hard drive not IDE
The HD atapi controllers are not standard, they are installed as 'primary BM Ultra DMA channel on a VIA busmaster Ultra ATA controller installed by the MOBO disk (I think)

I really don't understand these things too well but think the incorrect HD detection is at the root of the problem, because of this I can't even look to see if DMA is enabled.

The drive is correctly detected by BIOS btw

Someone help!

Yours sincerely

Chris
