Do the Ultra ATA controllers have yellow ! marks by them? If not, because the cd burner actually does appear on the hardware profile, I would say that it has nothing to do with Ultra ATA which is basically a souped up faster version of the regular IDE controllers. If you have a Pentium III or higher, the Ultra ATA should work just fine.
