Check master/slave setting of the CDRW (put it the same way your ZIP drive was).
Also some motherboards require exact master/slave setting (no cable select).It's a good point to put HDD + CDROM and CDRW on separate IDE channels. Make CDRW master for the second IDE, just make sure to set jumpers correctly.
Also enter thesafe mode and delete ZIP drive from System properties | Device Manager.
