Winbond was popular for making 16550 VLB dual ide controllers, and today still manufactures the creme-de-la-creme of ISA controllers. With dual 16550UART to fly your external modems away, jumpers galore allowed manual override of each i/o feature of the card, so it can be used to give a secondary printer port (ECP+EPP control), and IRQ15 for a secondary IDE port, so a CD ROM can be attached as a Secondary Master on a normal 386/486, among many of its other advanced features generally found on Pentium mainboards today.
