Usual solution is like this.Main HDD and CD ROM on IDE 0(or1) as Master and slave res. with econd HDD and CDR(w) on secondary controller again as Master and slave.
you are undoubtedly having this problem due to Windows problem recognising many CDR's if they are on the same data ribbon as the CD.
