Upon [re] boot any CD/DVD in the CD/DVD drive is recognized, and successfully mounted. However, if the CD/DVD is removed, Windoze XP does recognize the removal, and update the mount table. It then also fails to recognize any CD/DVDs that are then placed into the drive thereafter. I have a pretty good idea that an applicable .dll got 'stepped on' in %WINDIR%\System. I also have a pretty good idea that it is a relevant Windoze .dll, as opposed to a specific device driver; as the same behaviour goes on with the flash drives, but I am able to 'pursuade' the system into 'finding' file systems on these devices through manual interaction via explorer. Any ideas as to how to identify the relevant .dll or a manual process with which pursuad the system recognize the removal/insertion of CD/DVD media?
