I'm trying to replace myold cd-rom drive w/ a new faster one. my system meets all of the requirements for this new cdrw. i am trying to install it as a master drive on IDE 2. I have done this on other comps w/ no problems, but what gets me this time is that in the device manager, there is no cd-rom drive at all. windows will not detect it even though it powers up and does everything else. i have even tried a working cd-rom from another computer just to be sure. can anyone give me some advice?
