Experienced the same problem with Win2K and WinXP. I downloaded nero info tool like a friend suggested. Found out that my Toshiba SD-R2412 was being detected as a slave on the secondary ide channel. I swapped it for a Toshiba SD-R2512. This time the SD-R2512 was detected as a master on the secondary ide channel. Problem solved. The drive is now recognized by both OS's and I can boot from it as well. Now, I wonder how I can get the SD-R2412 detected as a master instead of a slave.
