: : hello. i wanted to update my bios after reading a tutorial on how to get the most out of your computer, it said update your bios. anyway, these are the instrucions from my motherboard manufacturer:

: : #1: Create a bootable system floppy disk.

: : #2: Download the ASRFLASH.EXE and copy ASRFLASH.EXE to the just created boot disk in step 1.

: : #3: Download an updated ASRock BIOS file (WinZip format with .zip file extension) from the web site, unzip the BIOS file and save to the disk you created in step 2.

: : #4: Boot from the disk you created in step 3.

: : #5: At the "A:\" prompt, type ASRFLASH, hit space bar once, and type BIOS file name then press . For example: A:\ASRFLASH K7VT2_1.20 then you will see a message "Please wait for BIOS loading ROM".

: : #6: After 1 minute, you will see the message "Flash ROM Update Completed - Pass", then you have finished upgrading the BIOS.

: : #7: After finishing upgrading the BIOS, please remove the floppy disk. Restart your system and press to enter the BIOS setup utility during boot up.

: : #8: In Exit menu, please select "Load Default Settings" and press to continue.

: : #9: Select "Exit Saving Changes" and press to exit the BIOS setup utility.

: : #10: Now, system is booting up with new BIOS

: : well once i get to step #5: it says put a space between the util name and the bios name but i can't put a space there and when i do it like this : ASRFLASHK7S8X_2.60 it just says error 3.... or if i just put ASRFLASH it says utility not found or something like that. what should i do? i've made a seperate boot disk and util disk as a second option but that doesn't work either.

Hey there, I just had the same problem.. But i found out. That when you have to type ASRFLASH (BIOS Name) yuo have to remember the "." in your BIOS name.. In my case ASRFLASH K7U600_1.70 . The first time I wrote K7U600_1 70, cause that's what the name was in DOS.. Don't know if this helps, but try it..
