: I just upgraded to Direct X 9.0c and it seemed to help (fingers crossed.) It's worth a try. I'm on my second S1 for the same problem and this started happening to me again on my second machine. I suspect it may be when I tried upgrading to Media Player 10 .. even when I uninstalled it, I suspect it left something on my machine that cause the slow sound problem. Once I have upgrade Direct X to 9.0c, I've yet to have the slow sound reoccur.

: I also cleaned my S1 of any virus, adware and spyware just to be sure. Good luck .. I know how annoying it is when Geddy Lee of Rush sounds like Yoda ...
