: : : This is a tough one, I have been looking for months, does anyone know where I can get a bios for the ASUS P2B-AE found in some Sony VAIO computers? If not, is there anyone who has tried another BIOS that works successfully? Thanks.

: : : I have also been investigating this. A company working in this field suggested to me that the bios P3B-1394 has been reported to work. I have not verified that, but I did find an oriental web article that indicated that P3B-1394 was used successfully to upgrade a VIAO to a 1GHz Celeron on a Super Slocket III adapter. I am trying to get a separate bios chip loaded with the new P3B-1394 so that I can test it, and still go back to the old bios without having to rely on the PC to be working to make the change.

: : :Changing my PCV-536DS to the P3B-1394 BIOS Version 2004-001 worked for everything except the Sony specific IEEE 1394 features for i-LINK. The socalled Smart Applications can't identify the computer as a proper VAIO, and quit with a message. I am not worried about that. I use the Ethernet to connect computers, and even Sony peripherals should be able to talk standard Firewire (i.e. IEEE 1394) to be able to interface to non-VAIOs.

: I just added a WD 120GB Disk Drive without any problems.
