: Please help me find an update to Award Modular BIOS, so it will allow 156 Meg of EDO RAM to run. My present 4.50 version only finds 64 Meg EDO RAM in the form of two 16 Meg RaM units plus two 64 meg RAM "sticks" mounted in the motherboard. RAM Bank zero registers YES in the Config.SYS for 64 Meg of ram and does not find the other 16 Meg stick of RAM. RAM Bank 1 registers NO in the Config.SYS. How can I up date or even change the Config.SYS so RAM Bank 1 will register 64 + 16 = 80 MEGS of RAM instead of "NO" in the Config.SYS table? Contack me at richeydm@netscape.net or richeydm@operamail.com soon.

It isn't clear whether you are using 72 pin SIMMs or 168 pin DIMMs. IF SIMMs you MUST install them in pairs - that is, 2-64 MB sticks together and 2-16MB sticks together.

I think you may be working against chipset limits. BIOS update is not likely to help. Find BIOS update at mainboard maker's web site. You MUST know maker, model and revision number to get the right BIOS. If you use the wrong BIOS you will need to recover corrupt BIOS - and your mainboard may not function at all. There is a good mainboard ID article at:
