Check out http://www.epox.com/html/english/support/Default.htm for Bios updates for our motherboard.
Good luck

: 'Ello from Bath in England.

: I'm trying - and failing - to have my system recognise an IBM Deskstar model ICL35L040AVER07-0 41Gb ATA100 7200rpm drive. Spent all last Sunday on it with b-in-law ( a Woodstock 'techie' ), and got nowhere. Didn't see it. Another, later machine did....

: I've just got a Seagate model 8T330621A U Series 5 30Gb in the hope that the '4.51PG' bios can see that.

: It could see a previous 20Gb drive by Samsung - which failed.

: Most advice is that I need a BIOS upgrade. Some advice is to change my mo-bo - not so easy now with a Super Socket 7..... IBM/Greenock suggest a 'Dynamic Data Overlay'utility. So do Seagate/Amsterdam....

: The 'sign on' is - 11/09/98-MVP3-S86B-866-CB581XVIC-00, and I HAVE installed a suitable 40/80 ribbon connect cable.

: Best way forward, please, from you who know....?

: Henry?
