: Before upgrading my bios my HDD detected by the BIos was 8.0gb after i upgraded my bios it shows it as 20GB. But now when i run fdisk the program still shows that it is a 8.0gb HDD. Hence i cannot access the rest of my HDD space....Please Help

You solved your BIOS limit problem and now you have a problem with fdisk, an operating system problem. I think 8GB is the size limit for DOS 6.22 and some, if not all DOS95 (DOS95 OSR2 MIGHT be OK, I'm not certain). You are going to run into this problem with format, scandisk and more at DOS revisions less than DOS98. You need to be using DOS98/Win98 or higher to get software large HDD support.

If your DOS version does not support large HDDs format and/or scandisk may mark everything above 8GB BAD; DO NOT try it.

Good Luck,
Henry
