: I recently downloaded the file "71m4b13a.exe" from the panasonic website, specifically http://www.panasonic.com/computer/notebook/html/04b1.asp, and after running the upgrade on my CF-71, the notebook is completely gone dead.

: Nothing happens when you switch the machine on. The BIOS is completely dead.

: Has anyone faced this situation and is there anyway at all of salvaging the machine's current condition.

: Thank you very much.

Read about corrupt bios recvovery at:
http://www.amptron.com/Documents/Recover_a_corrupt_BIOS.pdf

Article covers AMI and Award pretty well; Phoenix is a little different - they furnish recovery disks to fix a misflashed BIOS.

Suggest you poke around the panasonic web site and try to find how they suggest recovering a corrupt BIOS.

If all else fails you can get your BIOS chip reprogrammed at:
http://www.badflash.com

Good Luck,
Henry
