If you havn't already download version F8 of the BIOS and put it on a blank floppy, rename it AMIBOOT.ROM and dont put anything else on it(dont use a bootable disk)
Start your PC without the disk in and wait ubtil the floppy drive light is on, I know this is a strange way of doing it but its gotta be done this way to work. With the light on insert the disk with AMIBOOT.ROM on it. You wont see anything happen because the boot block (which you are about to fix)only supports ISA VGA cards, dont worry, it takes about four or five minutes, when you here four(4) beeps turn the pc off.Take the floppy out and turn back on, press delete immediately to enter BIOS setup and your BIOS should now be not only repaired but upgraded to F8
which is the only one that supports L2 cache properly and IDE BM drivers.
Hope it works it usually does. Only on an AMI Bios though.
