Are you installing it via Terminal Services or directly at the console? If installing via Terminal Services, it will sometimes look at your local system, not the target machine, to determine the rpeesence of SMBIOS.

: I'm trying to install IBM Director. The installation begins; but, after you get past selecting your desired options, an error (severe) message pops up saying: "Your machine does not have SMBIOS. Setup will exit now." I've installed IBM (it's an IBM xSeries 230 Netfinity server) Advanced System Management Device Driver v2.03 for Windows 2000....even re-booted the server; yet, no change. What do I need to do? Where can I find SMBIOS?

: Thank you!
