Hey all!
I have an ECS K7S5A motherboard (the onboard LAN version) and an AMD Athlon XP 1700+ processor. I updated the bios of the board but still when I boot up my processor is recognized as a K7 with 1100mhz clock speed. I manually changed the default CPU and DDR frequencies to 133/133 ("Alienplayer" suggested this to a different user with a similar problem in this forum). Now...when I boot up, the system correctly recognizes my processor as Athlon XP1700 but then fails to start Windows XP. I get a black sreen instead (right when the Windows XP logo should appear). The only way to start windows is with a 100/100 setting for requencies...but then my processor is not detected properly!
I'd appreciate any ideas and suggestions.
