Posiblemente venga configurado de fabrica a UDMA100 y tu placa no soporta ATA100, lo primero sería cambiar la configuración por software de UDMA100 a 33 o 66 del disco duro(hay programas en las web de los fabricantes) y probar. Si sigue sin ir algunos fabricantes (p.e. Seagate) permiten capar la capacidad a 32 Gb, perdemos unos 8Gb pero menos da una piedra.

: I am trying to install Maxstor 40GB drive to my PC and the computer does not recodnize it. I was told that I have to upgrade my BIOS. The model of the mother board is 35884701 based on Intel chipset I am not sure who made it. The BIOS is Award V4.51PG.
