: : OK, here's the problem...

: : I bought a 128MB PC133 memory module and replaced the
: : old one, but AMI BIOS is only detecting 64 MB's of
: : RAM. So, do I have to upgrade the BIOS??

: : P.S. I have tried the new memory module on the other
: : computer and it is detecting 128 MB's.

: : Thanks in advance...

: NOT a BIOS problem. BIOS update will not help. PC133 should work OK if it suits the chipset.

: Memory support is a chipset function; chipset limits include maximum onboard MBytes, maximum MBytes per stick and maximum Mbits per chip on the stick. Check your mainboard - there may be limits mentioned and possibly a particular memory configuration. If no help in the manual dig for the answer in the chipset specification book. Bottom line is that IF you are within chipset MByte limits you are more likely to have success with modules that have chips on both sides of the stick (lower bit density).

: Good Luck,
: Henry
