: I am a beginner and i formatted my hard drive. I do have the cdrom drivers on a boot disk. When i restart the computer with the disk it says there is no device found so no drivers are needed. I have got into my bios setup and I can`t figure what i did wrong. Now i have changed to many settings I don`t know what was the original.

I have figured out that my secondary ide device master setting is set to auto but it still doesn`t notice my cdrom drive. I then changed the jumpers on the cdrom drive to be a slave and hooked it up as the primary slave drive. The bios saw the drive and then i loaded the drivers for the cdrom. It now is working just fine. I guess i have a problem with the mother board and the secondary ide drive.
