: : Recently I Upgraded my Mother Board BIOS in order to detect the 40GB HDD. I have two HDDS. Both of them are 40 gigs. But both of them did not get detected.

: : The MOBO is an ATC 6220: I downloaded the BIOS patch 6220117A.BIN. I was able to Flash with this version of the patch. But still, the mobo could not detect the HDDs.

: : And my BIOS info after Flashing is:
: : BIOS Date: 05/25/99
: : BIOS Type: Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG
: : BIOS ID: 05/25/1999-i440BX-W977TF-ATC-6220C-VH
: : BIOS Eval: ATC-6220 VER:1.1 07 WB
: : Chipset: Intel 440BX/ZX rev 3
: : Superio: Winbond 977TF rev 0 found at port 3F0h

: : There are other two pathces which are of size 128KB. They could not flash my BIOS. I get a File Size mismatch, when i try to flash with the two patches.

: : Please let me know if anybody has got a solution for this.

: The available BIOS updates WILL NOT solve your problem, as you found. Luckily you probably did not misflash your BIOS.

: You can easily get support for HDDs up to 128 GB with an ATA/66 card. The ATA/66 card will be plenty fast, too until someone makes HDDs with sustained data transfer rate a lot higher than 66 MB/sec. Burst data transfer rate lasts for about 20 milliseconds - after that - sustained rate. Check your HDD specs.

: Hope this helps,
: Henry
