: I've updated the BIOS of my K7S5A mobo. I've downloaded the latest amiflash utility and the latest bios from the ecs homepage. I started with a bootdisk in DOS and started the flasher. The program said that the new bios file is correct and I pressed enter for flashing. Everything seemed fine. But then it restarted the computer by itself (or is that normal?). I thought that it is flashed now but the computer doesn't start.

: The computer shows nothing on the screen. I see that it checks the floppy drive but nothing happens.

: Any help would be appreciated.

: thx

Sounds like you misflashed your BIOS, unclear why. Suggest that you follow Amptron's corrupt BIOS recovery article at:
http://www.amptron.com/Documents/Recover_a_corrupt_BIOS.pdf

If DIY recovery doesn't work get your chip reprogrammed at:
http://www.badflash.com

Good Luck,
Henry
