A BIOS update could solve your problem - IF it is available and IF it provides large HDD (> 32 GB) support - if not, just use an ATA/66 card - it will support HDDs up to about 128 GB.

You need to know your mainboard maker, mainboard model and sometimes mainboard version to identify the correct BIOS update; some or all of this info may be printed on your mainboard or on a sticker on one of the slots or in your manual. If you use the wrong BIOS "update" you will corrupt your BIOS and your PC will not work right.

If you need to figure out which mainboard you have just follow the motherboard ID article at:

Good Luck,
