Henry,We finally figured out how to fix that guys POS computer...we threw it away and another friend at work gave him a dell PI 200mmx ;0).I have one other problem to bother you with my friend.I have a guy i work with who just bought an HP pavilion(just the tower with onboard sound and video)1.5 gig.For whatever reason he tried to format it(it's new for crying out loud)with a win98 s/u disk and it has winXP on it.The reason he gave was that his 40 gig HDD was showing up under properties in explore as a 4 gig HDD.When he realized this system was built specifically for XP he tried to reformat and put XP back on it,and he says it goes through the whole install fine and then when it comes back up it tells him winXP is already there, would he like to delete it and install fresh, which he of course just did!(40 minute install).Any ideas for this poor fellow,as i know almost nothing about XP,let alone how to properly format it or fix the problem he's having.Any suggestions Mr.Wizard?...p.s.Thanks so much for helping me big time with the other friends puter.I really do appreciate good help with my severe problems because it's so hard to find quality assistance these days. You know your in trouble when you know more about the problem subject matter than the guy trying to help you on the phone(tech support my butt).Let me know if you have any ideas.Drewpy
