: Hi all...well maybe someone here can help me. I have an integrated motherboard. this board works fine with win 98. when I dual booted with win2000, 2000 did not see the onboard modem. I researched this, and i found that the modem is not compatible with pro. I went out and purchased a us robotics modem...worked fine when i installed it and disabled the onboard modem jumper.(on both operating systems!)
: problem......then i wiped everything..and decided to just have win2000 instead of dual booting with 98.
: when i finally finished the install, win2000 did not see the us robotics card. This card is definitly compatible with pro. Do you think that i should update the bios? I know that i need the bios number that flashes at startup...but where do i go to get the files if this is what i need to do?
: Thanks, I would appreciate the help

I don't think W2K looks for hardware like W98 does. Either force it to find the Modem (Add New Hardware) or Manually load W2K Modem Driver from USR (run the USR setup program if you can find one).
