BIOS update is probably necessary, but ALWAYS RISKY. Suggest that you be prepared to recover if you corrupt (misflash) your BIOS - study Amptron's corrupt BIOS recovery article at:
http://www.amptron.com/Documents/Recover_a_corrupt_BIOS.pdf

Be sure to READ and FOLLOW the mainboard maker's update instructions EXACTLY - it is VERY EASY to misflash the BIOS. DO NOT use a windows based unzipper to unzip the BIOS flasher - you can accidentally start the flasher and erase your BIOS (it WILL NOT reprogram your BIOS under windows).

If no typos in your BIOS ID string it appears that you have a Gigabyte mainboard; inspect the board and find the model number printed on it. IF you have a Gigabyte board try:
http://www.giga-byte.com

BE CAREFUL.
