: : Hy,

: : I have a Samsung GT6000 notebook and its BIOS is
: : a phoenix bios v 4.0 6.0.10 me

: : I have just bought a new HardDrive (ibm travelstar 30 Go) and its size is not correctly reconnized (only 12 Go) so I decided to upgrade my bios.

: : But samsung stop the bios support on the 03/2000...

: : So I'm very desapointed.
: : Where can I find a upgraded Bios ?

: : Thanks.

: If your operating system is windows 9X it will recognize the larger hard drives saving you from the risky task of flashing your bios! Use your boot floppy that came with the windows 9X cd to partition and format your HDD.
: I have several machines with old bios' that I use on my network at home that have win98 for the O/S with HDDs from 6 to 30gb. All work fine. I hope this helps.

This MAY appear to work - BUT if scandisk gets involved you can kiss off all of the data above the BIOS support limit.

Been there, it CAN happen.
