: Hey All.... I have a k7s5a motherboard which i updated the bios in order to run my 1600+ athlon XP CPU.

: All went well with the flash, and the computer boots up fine from it is completely switched off, but when i reboot/restart from windows or by pushing the reset button the computer wont boot the operating system, i.e. boot sequence fine untill it get to booting from the harddrive.

: Anyone got any ideas? Cause I'm all out, thanx!

: 1600+ XP cpu
: 256 DDR ram

: 40gb harddrive
: cd-writer

If you haven't already done so I suggest that you CLEAR CMOS, enter CMOS Setup, setup your clock and drives then choose "Failsafe" or "Default" or "Optimal" Settings; SAVE and exit. That will clear the flash trash and reset hidden settings to normal. If that doesn't work you may have used the wrong "update"; if the "update" was very recent start looking for a later "update" - that one probably has a bug or so. You may need to go back to BIOS that worked.

Good Luck,
