Your CPU is technically sound up to 80C so unless your thermistor is 30 out, its unlikely to be the CPU, the ideal temp for the CPU is around 50 and unless overclocked a graphics card is unlikely to be the cause.
Try and guage the rise in temp over time, normally a CPU will get to its 'normal'(in its current situation) op.temp in about 7 mins if running idle, if it heats up faster then it could be as henry suggests. But just a warning that cases perform better(air flow and cooling wise)when they are closed, they can actually overheat if left open due to the fans not pushing cool air in or pulling hot out.
