: I don't need the upgrade to support a large HDD, but my system was infected by a virus and the bios is corrupt now !

: Maybe someone has an old bios for my board....that's fine too !

: Greetz...

Suggest that you keep looking for the right BIOS for your mainnboard. Do you have any way to contact Yakumo or local dealer by phone for help? As it is, your board is dead since the BIOS was erased by the virus. You will need to replace the board if you can't find a BIOS that works; you may want to consider desperate measures. See FAQ 10 discusses using a BIOS that is close to what you need at:
http://www.wimsbios.com/

Inspect your mainboard (and manual) and figure out the names/numbers of all of the chipsets on your board then try and find another mainboard that has (nearly) the same chipsets on it (NOT as hard as it might seem - Wim's BIOS lists Award BIOS sorted by primary chipset ID). Try the BIOS for the nearest matching boards (even if a different brand BIOS).

When you find a likely BIOS candidate you can follow Amptron's corrupt BIOS recovery article at:
http://www.amptron.com/Documents/Recover_a_corrupt_BIOS.pdf

You may need to try different flashers and different BIOS recovery methods. If the virus erased the boot block of your BIOS then you can recover only by getting the chip reprogrammed; you would be unable to recover the BIOS on your PC if the boot block was erased.

If you are willing to spend the money, Unicore can make a custom BIOS for your mainboard:

Good Luck,
Henry
