: : : Anyone has a bios-file for the Yakumo motherbord P686LX with a 440LX chipset? It is an AMI-bios

: : : The complete string during startup is :
: : : 61-012A-04500-00111111-071595-440LX-PPLX012A-H

: : : Thanx

: :
: : If you are lucky your mainboard was made by someone else (Yakumo use mainboards made by others such as AOpen and ASUS); 4500 would be the maker number but it is not in my (old) list; all numbers >2000 are supposed to be USA makers.

: : MAYBE AMI can help. Download their mainboard ID program and run it to ID your mainboard maker:
: : http://www.ami.com/support/mbid.html

: : If AMI's program does not solve your problem just follow the motherboard ID article (tells ALL!) at:
: : http://www.pcnineoneone.com

: : Post again if you cannot find a BIOS update - there are usually good work arounds to accomplish what you need to do.

: : Good Luck,
: : Henry

: Hi,
: I tried all of these great tips but no luck so far.
: Amibios didn't find any manufacturer.
: Why does Yakumo does not have any information about their old motherbords ????
: I found a string between the PCI-slots :
: 35-8801-03...maybe this can helps anyone Identifying my MB ?
: I found this string in a huge list of MB-id's :
: 61-012A-004500-00111111-071595-440LX-PPLX012A-H: Yakumo P686LX

: Please help needed !

It appears that you are not likely to find a free BIOS update. If you need support for large HDDs just use an ATA/66 card; it will support HDD up to about 128 GB and will be faster than your IDE HDDs.

Good Luck,
Henry
