Hello ... My problem :

Ive a PC100 Motherboard, model M748 LMRT.

I bought a Quantum Fireball ATA 100 40 GB HD, 7200 rpm, and when i tried to recognize it in BIOS SETUP, it freezes ...

So, after talking with a friend, i decided to do a BIOS UPDATE ... I downloaded from www.pcchips.com the last .ROM .. and used the UPGRADE UTILITY found on the CD that came with the mother board ... AMIFL816.EXE (at the pc100 website i read that it should be the AMIFL817.EXE, but i couldnt find it for download).

I Booted the PC with a boot-disk, and typed:

>AMIFL816.EXE 010914s.rom
the system showed me a lot of info, telling me that it was everything allright ... so, i UPDATED my bios from an older version , to the newest version found in the PC100 website.

After that, the BIOS SETUP sucessefully found my NEW 40 GB hd ... so i was happy :)

But a bigger problem started .. instead of showing PENTIUM III - 600 MhZ when turning on the computer, now it shows PENTIUM III - 400 MhZ ...

Ive already checed on BIOS SETUP, the multiplyer, the MHz, everything there is fine ... CPU SPEED 200 mhz, CPU Multiple Factory X3 (200*3=600 Mhz)

But it still shows 400 mhz, even in Windows when i open system proprietis.

PS: Im from Brazil guys, i know a little of english, so therere many mispelled words ... im sorry, i did my best :)

Thx in advance .. Felipe
