WHY do you think your BIOS is causing your trouble? BIOS usually doesn't become "BAD" suddenly (unless hit by virus)? Does your system boot to a floppy disk OK? IF yes, BIOS probably isn't the problem - more likely an OS related problem.

If you can boot to a floppy, make a bootable floppy and copy scandisk to it from win98drive:\windows\command

Run scandisk and perform a thorough read/write surface scan of your HDD - a sector or more may have become bad and could cause boot failure. After running scandisk, if any BAD spots found you may be able to boot, but more likely you will need to reload the OS.

Good Luck,
