Not sure if you can help .. but I will give it a try.
I have the DX400-SN motherboard by Iwill (Dual Xeon P4 motherboard)It changes its processor speed via the multiplier. I can make it run from 800 mhz - 1.7 mhz .. but the bios features (are seen via the bios) will not like me go above 1.7 ghz. I believe this is something that Iwill is not allowing their users to access via the bios. This motherboard is base off
of the 603 socket 860 chipset using a cypress 2220 chip for the pll. Tyan has release the features in there bios to go above the 1.7 but Iwill since the
release of this motherboard hasn't release 1 bios update. I was wondering if someone may be able to use the cbrom programs or what ever it
takes for me to access the higher speeds of my cpu while maintaining the same
400 mhz bus speed. Basically in a nut shell this cypress chip works with the bios to provide the desirer speed for the cpu via 4 input signals coming from the bios. The cpu looks at the signal to see what's highs and lows on the its pins during a reset. So there is no way it can be programmed on
the fly. If anyone can help I don't mind paying for your services.
