: can anybody help me thu i want to run XP.
: My bios is some phoenix/dell substitute.

: BIOS Manufacturer PhoenixBIOS 4.0 Release 6.0 licensed to Intel
: BIOS ID 4S4EB0X1.10A.0035.P13.9909211101
: BIOS Date : 09/21/99
: Chipset : Intel 440BX/ZX rev 3
: BIOS ROM Size : 512K

You should look for a BIOS update at the computer maker's web site or the mainboard maker's web site. Dell said NO so that leaves the mainboard maker. You need to know the mainboard maker (could be Intel or ...), the mainboard model and sometimes the mainboard version. Phoenix BIOS information is not very helpful identifying mainboards. Suggest that you try to identify your mainboard by following the motherboard ID article at:

If you are determined to use your PC then you can get a custom BIOS update from Unicore (expensive) at:

Hope this helps,
