: my bios wont let me change settings and i need to as the settings arent correct everytime i change somthing my comp boots and resets and i have to clear the bios to get it to work again any idears on how to fix or do i need an upgrade

Part of what you describe is normal - that is, the system should reset and boot up after you change CMOS settings. Sounds like your settings are not being saved; if you are sure that you save settings before you exit then the CMOS battery may be bad - probably worth changing anyway - CR2032 is less than $2 at Home Depot, Kroger, etc and a lot more for the same battery at a computer shop. If you can't find the battery you may have a real time clock with battery inside; if so, try Unicore for a replacement:

Hope this helps,
