: WHY do you want to "update" your BIOS? Is your PC operating OK now? Do you need any new features? You will create a severe crisis if you get the WRONG BIOS update for your mainboard. You need to know mainboard maker, model and hardware revision for your mainboard. You should look for a FREE BIOS update, IF any exists, on the mainboard maker's web site (probably QDI, but VERIFY it). Identify your mainboard by following the motherboard ID article at:

: Carefully READ and understand the mainboard maker's warnings, update instructions and especially the Release Notes. If the Release Notes fail to mention the feature you need there is no point changing the BIOS, it will not help.

: Good Luck,
: Henry
