: Hi there good buddies,I can't foremat this Seagate ST31621A,( 1.6 Gig.) drive I have tried to EZdrive it but at the last moment I get an error message saying opperation halted on account of not being able to write to disk, can anybody help!

I need a lot more information. What, EXACTLY, have you done so far? What hardware are you using (CPU, mainboard or PC model, other IDE devices)? Does your BIOS recognize the full capacity of the drive? If no, how much does it recognize or does it fail to recognize it? If yes, WHY use EZ-Drive (from Western Digital??)? WHY NOT use Software from the Seagate web site like DiscWizard or Disk Manager?

Generally, the disk maker's software postings are most likely to work, even if they have the same name and appear the same as on another maker's site - BUT - many software packages with the same name take the makers HDD peculiarities into account and they may not work with another maker's HDD. I don't think Disk Manager from Seagate and Disk Manager from Ontrack would be the same (VERY similar, but not identical), even with the same name.

Please post more details and maybe someone can help sort this out.
