Hello: I have a Venturis FX 5133, 133 Mhz Pentium, 96 Mb RAM, 1 Gb HardDrive, Phoenix BIOS date 08/15/97. I can't get any printer to work on it. My local computer friend is stumped and said "BIO doesn't recognize LPT 1 on boot. Printer will not work re: 1)initialization error and 2) communication problem." Any ideas on how to get a printer to work on this? The printer port is integrated to the motherboard -- so there's no gray ribbons inside linking them. Is it possible the printer port is not soldered in right? Has anyone ever heard of that happening? I have tried different printers, different printer cables, removing the printer port and reinstalling it. I've run out of ideas. Thanks for your help.
