A statement of maximum onboard memory support and memory configurations should be shown in your mainboard manual. I think you have a good chance of being able to install 64 MB and maybe as much as 128MB memory in your system but I can't tell for sure without reading the manual.

Basically you must use momory sticks that match your memory voltage, Memory Speed (FSB MHz), total onboard MBytes, maximum MBytes per stick and maximum Mbits per chip on the stick (bit density). This information can be hard to ferret out - mainboard manual would be much faster. Memory support is usually spelled out in the chipset Specification "Sheet" (usually a book!)

If you are using 72pin SIMMs you need to know if your mainboard requires/supports Fast Page Memory (FPM) and/or Extended Data Out (EDO) or something else, 60ns or 70ns, whether you require parity memory, ECC memory and more that should be in the manual. You probably must install SIMMs in pairs (may not be stated in the manual, but probably required).

I think your mainboard was made by PC Partner and sold by one of their resellers (possibly VTech). You need to know the mainboard maker, mainboard model and mainboard hardware revision (usually etched or printed on the board) so that you can get the right manual, BIOS update, memory and drivers. If you need to identify your mainboard exactly then read the motherboard ID article at:

Hope this helps,
