Most BIOS flashers will not work right if you try to run them in windows or in DOS within windows. I suspect that you may not be operating in DOS Real Mode, WITHOUT any drivers. If you haven't already done EXACTLY this, do it now:
1. Make a bootable floppy disk (>format a:/s/u )
2. Create (EDIT) an autoexec.bat file (on the floppy you made in step 1) with this line in it AND NOTHING ELSE:
3. Copy kar0508b.bin to the floppy you made in step 1
4. Enter CMOS Setup and make sure that the FIRST boot device is your FDD (usually A:)
5. Insert the bootable floppy you made in step 1 in the FDD and restart your computer.

[Your computer SHOULD boot up using the FDD, execute the autoexec.bat file and flash the BIOS. DO NOT INTERRUPT your computer while it is working - you will corrupt your BIOS and your computer will not work (until you recover your corrupt BIOS).]

6. Enter CMOS Setup and select "Load Setup Defaults". SAVE and EXIT.
7. Try your computer.
8. Tweak CMOS Settings the way you like them.

Good Luck,
