I have the SoundMax integrated digital audio driver on IRQ 11. I also have my SpeedStream 3060 DSL modem on the same IRQ. I am having severe problems with my PC crashing when I try to access my CD-ROM and also when I try to type an address into IE5 address window. I don't even know how the SoundMax driver got installed on my PC. And when I try to remove it and reboot, windows reinstalls the driver. How do I find out what is requiring this driver? I have a SpaceWalker Celeron 500 board and chip with a built-in Yamaha sound "card". I also have a Supra 56K modem, a ZIP250 internal and an Acer 4x CDRW. How do I go about moving the SoundMax driver from this IRQ and where should I move it to? The DSL modem must be alone on the IRQ and I can't do much with regard to uninstalling things as long as the CD-ROM doesn't work. I'm in a kind of a Catch-22 situation. I can't uninstall the DSL modem without a working CD-ROM, and the CD-ROM won't work as long as the DSL modem is sharing it's IRQ with the SoundMax driver! Also, without a working CD-ROM, I can't reinstall WIN98.
