Wally, just had me one of these machines and scrapped it last night, I know your messaage is quite old now, but hope this helps!

There are 3 simms slots in the thing (72 pin) if ya fork out the bones for the ram I would bring her up to a magnificient 96 megs! but thats just me! Also try setting the multiplier jumper so as to "overclock" her some! the processor got a nifty heatsink and even thermal paste! its worth a shot because you may be able to bring her up to MP3 playing speed!!!

As for the Harddrive, well I would suggest an investment in to a newer drive, it will work with the board! however if you currently have a CD-Rom installed as well you will not be able to use the new HD with the old & the CD-ROm as there is only 1 IDE interface, you will need an I/O card with more IDE plugs on it! (and if you do this, shoot for an ATA-100 card that will support the newer HD's because with a correct BIOS update on this BAD ASS Computer you will be able to have the biggest drive money can buy!!)

hope any/all this info has some use to you! if not then what odds, good luck!!

: I have a Compaq prolinea 4/66 which I must upgrade from the 16meg memory to 32 or 64 megs. I need to no the specs for what kind of memory this machine requires. I also need to change up the hard drive from 1 gig to whatever.

: I'll appreciate any advice I am given.

: Wally
